With recent advancements in web based and communicative technologies, modern audiences have fractured and are now consuming content on a wide range of various platforms. This has in turn given advertisers and influencers a whole host new platforms and applications to connect with an increasingly younger audience. These platforms are referred to as CTV and OTT.
What is CTV and OTT?
CTV, or Connected TV, is the device used to watch online tv which can vary from game consoles, smart televisions, or streaming devices like ROKU. OTT (Over-the-Top) refers to the apps or channels that deliver video content over the internet. These platforms range from the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to Limpid’s own channels Viola, Monstromo, and Jarvis – which are all available to download on ROKU.
Public awareness and interest in CTV channels has exploded in recent months, with the user total growing by 10% in Q1 for 2020 and rising exponentially to 72% by Q3. Clearly the sky is the limit for CTV and OTT platforms, as our CEO Jitesh Bisht said; “The growth of Addressable TV has been incredible in 2020. Limpid’s O&O channels on ROKU have grown to 750K MAU. We have non-skippable pre-roll and mid-roll ad placements with a 15-60 sec time duration delivering a great, TV-like ad experience to our advertisers. We are excited to scale to greater heights in Q4! Onwards and upward.”
